The gorgeous Hindu and Jain temples of Abhapur, in the Polo Forest in Gujarat. Built at different times, the oldest temples are a 1000 years old and the newest are 500 years old. An excellent example of the मरु-गुर्जर school of architecture, the temples are exquisite. Sadly, all of them have been vandalized and destroyed by Izlamic invaders. And yet, what remains still fills you with awe. One wonders how glorious the temples would have been when they were intact. Sadly, they are not maintained at all. Full of ugly graffiti and litter left by today’s ugly Indian urban tourist!
